Alright,,i'm so pissed off right now!
I started browsing Mudah.my since 8pm to look for persian kittens but I came across so many fake persian cats ads! The prices offered were outrages -RM650...Rm800 ..RM1200 etc but the cats were not Persians. I don't mean to discriminate domestic cats but please be rational in setting up the price. Be fair to those who have just started to be a pet owner. They might think that the DLH that the sellers are selling is a pure breed persian and pay for that unreasonable price! Is it even worth it?
Stop it people...if your cats are DLH Domestic Long Hair, then accept it! This fact doesn't make your cat less cute isn't it? Your cats, despite the breed are special in their own way. I have DLH named Leo and i'm so proud of him. We (Me & Mr J) bought him with a thought that he's a persian but soon we realized that he isn't one. We love him the way he is but we're seriously mad becoz that petshop owner lied to us. (mangsa tau).
So please do not simply claim your cats as "Persians" if they have long hair, "Bengals" just because they have 5 spots on the body and "Mainecoons" just because they have furry chest!.
There are a lot of other characteristics and physical features that we need to look at before determining and claiming that they are the pure breeds.
Take persian for instance, to claim the cat to be a pure persian..the cat has to have these features: ( there're a lot more but i choose only 8 as the examples):
1. Long-haired with relatively short, thick and strong legs
2. Distinctive short, broad and snub nose
3. Large round eyes
4. Broad paws.
5. Round and massive head
6. Round face, set on a short, thick neck.
7. Full cheeks, broad jaws and well developed chin
8. Small, round-tipped, tilted forward ears
So, if your cat has long hair but pointed face with small eyes, it means that your cat is DLH not a persian. Tak yah muhong & juai mahai2 sgt na.
